A Dynamic Place to Learn
Hudsonville Christian Middle School is a place where students can explore God’s world in a nurturing, safe and affirming environment filled with dynamic ways to explore God’s world and grow in their faith.
Academic Excellence
Our Middle School program is designed to challenge and nurture the individual, God-given talents of students in grades six through eight. Our curriculum is aimed at developing the whole child as a social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual being, created in His image. Because we are committed to integrating faith into every aspect of learning, the Reformed Perspective enriches all our academic classes as well as our fine arts and athletic programs.
We understand that God’s children have unique strengths and weaknesses and offer differentiated instruction to meet their individual needs. Students can take advantage of a full range of learning opportunities, from remediation to options for accelerated learners.
In Partnership with Parents
Hudsonville Christian Middle School teachers recognize the importance of parental involvement and communication. They welcome email communication from parents and invite parents to volunteer to help out with special events like field trips and parties.
We also communicate through a weekly home bulletin, called The Home Communicator, which includes school news, announcements, and upcoming events. It is sent home each Tuesday with the youngest or only child of each family. To conserve paper, we recommend you opt-in to receive The Home Communicator via email.
The Spotlight is issued several times each year to inform the broader HCS community of school news and events.
Parents also have convenient, web-based access to students’ academic information and records. Through Edline, parents (and students) can securely access grades, report cards, assignments, class schedules and attendance information.
HCS also offers parents and other members of the HCS community a web-based method for communicating. Through HCS Connect, parents can connect with each other by posting classifieds for items for sale, help wanted and other services.
Gifted Teachers
Our middle school teachers have been especially chosen on the basis of a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as well as their unique teaching skills and passion for Christian education. Each is certified by the state of Michigan and committed to our school mission of challenging minds and lives for Christ.
2011-2012 Theme
Each year, Hudsonville Christian Middle School picks a theme to guide students’ spiritual development. This year’s theme, Growing in the Son's Light, comes from John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
