April 12 Home Communicator – Bringing Our Rejoicing Into the World!
“Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus’ head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen. Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.” John 20:6-8 NIV
What a moment for Peter and John! They finally understand that Jesus has stripped away the burial clothes and walked out of the tomb – alive! They had believed Jesus was the Messiah when he was with them, but after watching him suffer and die – something in their minds a Messiah would never do – their belief was shaken. It was shaken until this moment was proved by an empty tomb!
We have it easier than Peter and John because from the beginning we have known Jesus is the Messiah. However, our faith is still shaken at times. And we know the story’s end! But truly, the end of the story – Jesus’ resurrection – is just the beginning for us. It isn’t enough to remain in the moment of proven belief. We must intentionally live it for every moment of our lives. In this way, we bring our rejoicing to the world.

The HCS mission statement is “Challenging Minds and Lives for Christ”. We take this mission seriously. As we continue to partner together, let us rejoice in knowing Jesus is the Messiah and intentionally live our rejoicing because of all this belief encompasses.
