April 17 Home Communicator – Spring can mean so many things, and bring out so many feelings in parents, teachers, and children!
This spring has been amazing. We have had children come to school in shorts and T-shirts, and today I am sitting in my office watching sleet roll down my window. There is nothing quite like April in West Michigan.
This year April also brings about a few other thoughts, like nearing the end of a year at school where we have celebrated 100 years of His faithfulness to Hudsonville Christian. A lot of work, done by many individuals, has gone into this yearlong celebration and it is not over yet. Next Sunday, the 22nd, we invite the HCS community to come together in the west gym for a time of reflection, celebration, and worship and giving thanks for what He has done through HCS for 100 years. We hope you can join us at 2:00 for this wonderful time of looking back…but also forward with gratitude!
We also have the final event, the parade, coming up soon on May 11. If you have never experienced a Hudsonville Christian School parade you are in for a treat! The parade will begin at 1:00 at school and end up at Hughes Park. More details will be coming home soon but I hope it is on your calendar already!
April also brings about a variety of feelings for us as a staff at school. While you may think teachers are counting down the days until June like some of the children, it actually can be quite a different feeling. As I mentioned before, we love your children, God’s children, as if they were our own, so the thought of only having them in our classrooms for only a few more weeks is not always a happy thought. We often talk about ending the year realizing we don’t have many days left with “our” children before they move on, and to make the most of the opportunities we have left with them.
I ask that you continue to keep all of us in your prayers as we wind down a year of celebration at HCS, but also as we focus in on finishing another wonderful year at HCS.
Serving Christ Together,
Dan Pott, Superintendent
