April 19 Home Communicator – Sometimes God moves in such a way that it simply can’t be missed. Such was the case on Good Friday when staff and students from both Hudsonville Christian School campuses, as well as many parents and friends, gathered in the West Gym for a time of worship. As one who was part of the planning, I can tell you that what was experienced was much richer than anything we could have planned when God poured out His blessings on us that morning. If you weren’t able to attend or haven’t had a chance to see it, I’d invite you to check it out here.
God’s Blessing of Community – What a joy to see our school community gather in one place again! God has sustained Hudsonville Christian through many changes and challenges over the last two and a half years. Worshiping together was a powerful reminder that He goes before us and is faithfully sustaining the mission to challenge minds and lives for Christ!
God’s Blessing of Worship – It could be argued there is nothing sweeter than the sound of children’s voices raised in worship, but what if that worship was being led by students? What a blessing to have a group of 7th and 8th graders share their gifts by leading us in worship. I wish you could have heard their prayers before worship too, filled with a genuine desire to draw others closer to God through their efforts.
God’s Blessing of His Word – Nothing could have quite prepared me for the moment a group of first graders started reciting the story of the empty tomb with me as I read from Matthew 28. What a comfort and encouragement to know that the good news is written on their hearts and they want to proclaim it too!
Thanks be to Jesus, the King of all Kings, for trading in a heavenly crown to wear a crown of thorns for us. May we remember His sacrifice with grateful hearts and celebrate His victory over sin and death by daily putting our faith and trust in Him!
In Christ alone,
Katie VanTil, Nurturing Faith Coordinator
