April 19 Home Communicator – I always marvel at the spring season – both as a parent but also as an administrator. Just when you think you can’t pack one more event in-between 3:00 and bedtime, we come up with a new way to make it happen.
I must admit, however, I do love the spring. While I know things do get busy, the activity also creates excitement! At the middle school, I loved to see the students’ energy on the first 70 degree day (most of the time) and the students heading outside for the first attempt at spring sports. In the elementary building, spring is met with shorts and t-shirts and children asking, “How long is it before summer?”
Personally, the springtime is an exciting and busy time in the office as well. It is filled with calls about enrollment for next year, tours of Hudsonville Christian for new parents, and many, many young children walking around the elementary in anticipation of their first day of school next August.
Plans are already underway for next year with our Expansion Project. The month of May will be a busy month with asbestos removal happening along with the beginning of construction and the removal of the east and south wings of the old Unity building. We are also involved in the hiring process at both the elementary and middle school buildings.
I love the shirts our children wear that say, “God has Big Plans for Me” because it is true. He does have plans for them and, quite honestly, for all of our children at Hudsonville Christian. I am very excited and privileged to play a part in those plans – both for our children and for Hudsonville Christian as well. Enjoy the spring and all of the excitement it brings!
Serving Him Together,
Dan Pott, Superintendent
