April 28 Home Communicator – What can stop our mission if our mission is building God’s Kingdom?
Are you up to date on what is open? Mission at HCS is open! Opportunity to Be the Change is open! Our theme this year, “Be the Change”, is a great reminder that these times might be changing, but this community is standing firm, letting nothing move us. We are still open to giving ourselves fully to the work of the Lord, as we know that our labor in the Lord is not in vain. Praise God that nothing stops those united in support of His kingdom or His mission!
This week Friday, we as a community have the opportunity to give ourselves fully to the work of the Lord as we “come together” in unity even though we are separated in proximity for our 9th annual HCS Walkathon. This event, an HCS favorite, has typically been held at Unity Christian High School’s track where students, staff, teachers, parents, and grandparents gathered in support of Christian Education. This year, however, our community has an opportunity to come together to put our theme verse into action as we hold our first ever LIVE-streamed HCS Walkathon on May 1 at 11:00 a.m. The live stream will be held on our HCS Facebook page. Students have been collecting pledges from family and friends and will be running, walking, and biking in their own neighborhoods in support of the same mission! We are so blessed to be able to be joined in spirit with our HCS community during this time and we hope you can join us virtually! For those of our community that do not have a Facebook account, we will be recording our LIVE event and are able to email a link so that you can still see and be a part of this event at your convenience. If you would like to participate in the way of a pledge, feel free to give online or mail a gift into school, making sure to indicate if the pledge is towards a particular student’s goal or put “walkathon” on the memo line.
Although we would all prefer to be gathering together, cheering for our children and grandchildren in person as they run for Kingdom mission, we praise God that His mission and Kingdom aren’t closed! May God bless us all as we participate by running or “cheering” and may we all have many opportunities to declare how our labor was not in vain, but how God’s Mission and Kingdom are unstoppable!
