August 22, 2023 Home Communicator – Welcome back to Hudsonville Christian School the 2023-2024 school year! If the summer felt like it flew by much quicker this year, that is accurate. In efforts to shift our school calendar to be more aligned with area schools, we lost a full week of break! The summer break is a wonderful time to refresh and reset, but that was not the case for many of our construction workers. They were pushing hard to complete the various building projects that we had planned, including the first phase of our Middle School building expansion and renovation. We are thankful for so many that put the extra time and effort needed to ensure the buildings were ready for the start of school.
Teachers have also been busily preparing their classrooms and materials in anticipation of the new academic year, and are eager to meet their new students. After some time away, students are probably eager and a little nervous to see their new classroom and meet old friends and make new friends. It can be an adjustment for parents as well. Parents are following some old routines and learning many new ones as another school year begins. It is so energizing to see the students filling our halls and classes and it has made all of the preparation and diligent work worth it.
I am eager to witness how God will use our theme of “Living Water” this year. Christ is indeed the ultimate source of our living water. It is my hope that we have a wonderful school year with great growth and that we can heavily rely on our Living Water in all situations. Let Christ be the one we fully rely on as we face certain challenges and experience opportunities of joy at HCS.
