August 29, 2023 Home Communicator – If you’ve seen pictures online this week of our first week back at HCS, then you’ve seen the “we” not “me” that makes HCS unique. In these photos you’ve witnessed an impromptu “first day of school sidewalk prayer gathering” of parents laying hands on our superintendent, Devon Brinks, praying for wisdom for the year ahead; you’ve seen images of parents and students walking our halls meeting their new teachers and chatting with friends; you’ve perhaps joined us in the West gym for our first day of school all-school chapel and worshiped with us as a community and body of parents, grandparents, teachers, students, staff, board members, and administration.
As our world becomes more individualized, it takes intention, humility, and a sincere desire to be united in the mission as the Body of Christ to build better bridges between home and school.
At HCS we see this partnership as vital and of utmost importance to the nurturing of your children and grandchildren in the Christian Educational setting. And so we thank you for your gifts of time, talents, and treasures that make this mission possible, but we also want your questions, concerns, joys, and suggestions!
As we begin another new year with the “We, not Me“ mentality, we encourage you to reach out with your joys, concerns, or questions to administration, teachers, board members whose doors are always open to you. The mission of Christian Education has been given to all of us and we urge you to join us as the Body in its stewardship.
It is a blessing to serve and walk alongside the Christian home in mission, and we are thankful for the parents and grandparents who partner with us in all areas to make this community such a wonderful place in which to serve.
