February 19 Home Communicator – It is a blessing for me to come to school every day. I believe one of the many strengths of our school is the partnership we have between parents and school and staff. Together we focus on the whole child and all the areas that go along with them – intellectual, social, physical, emotional and spiritual. This partnership occurs in many ways and discussing and reflecting on our children’s progress at Parent Teacher Conferences is one of these.
As we look forward to these conversations this week, here are a few things to consider:
- Have a conversation with your child before conferences to ask them what they enjoy about school and what, if any, concerns they have.
- So often in our tech world, it is easy to read, chart and log, but we fail to listen to what is being said by one another.
- Keep an open mind. Communication is not always about what we want, but it can be one of the many pieces of the puzzle.
- When you go home, discuss the conference with your child. Be sure to mention the positives as well as any concerns.
Thank you for your support and encouragement for what we do each day at Hudsonville Christian. As a staff, we are committed to partnering with parents to the best of our ability. As always, if you have questions, please ask.

Dan Pott, Superintendent
