February 23 Home Communicator – I recently read Mark 4, where Jesus told the parable of the sower. In this parable, Jesus explains that in order to accept the Word and properly apply it, we must first be open and receptive of the Word that is being proclaimed. If we want God’s Word to sink into our hearts we must ask God to reveal Himself through His Word and in our lives. Jesus said, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32)
During this Lenten season I want to encourage you to dig into God’s Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ through the Word of God. There is nowhere else we can go to receive continued nourishment for our souls.
This same encouragement and discipline is used in our classrooms at Hudsonville Christian. To truly do this we believe that our school is not just Christian through our Bible classes, but we strive to have “every square inch” of the school rooted in the truth of God’s word. This means every curriculum resource, every lesson being taught, every job being done can be shaped and nourished by faith in Christ. “For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” (Col. 1:16-17).
In Christ,
