February 27 Home Communicator – This weekend, my family and I heard a speaker who gave a great analogy, and I really related it to what we are doing here at Hudsonville Christian…as we guide our students in the ways of the Lord.
Christmas morning, the speaker’s son received a bottle of cologne that he wanted, and promptly sprayed some on himself. That afternoon, as their family played a game together, the family dog hopped into their son’s lap and snuggled with him for about 20 minutes. The rest of the day, the dog smelled like…you guessed it…the son’s new cologne.
This is such a great reminder that whatever we immerse ourselves in is what we will carry. If we spray ourselves with the ways of the world, the fragrance of the world is what we will carry with us. But if we dive into the Word of God, are quiet in the presence of God throughout the week and seek Him first in all things, we will carry the very fragrance and aroma of Christ. I think we can all agree that the world needs more of Christ’s aroma everywhere!
This week, may we go forward as the fragrance of Christ to every person with whom we cross paths. Please lift our teachers and staff before the Lord as they guide our HCS kids in His ways.
Seeking Him first with you…

“For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.” 2 Corinthians 2:15-17
