January 10 Home Communicator – “Schools shape your kids to a great extent. The environment and exposure they get in school directly affect their future. They learn to adjust between a group of people, interact with them, react in various situations.” This powerful sentence concluding an article I was reading hit me hard and prompted me to think about the ways my own children have been and continue to be shaped through their years at Hudsonville Christian School. Can you relate?
“A” A friend loves at all times. Jesus’ Birthday Party. God’s Big Words. Pearl of Great Price. Love Bazaar. Chapel. Grace Walk. Christmas Celebrations. 7th Grade Winter Camp. Spiritual Emphasis Week. Journey Project.
Friday’s chapel reminded me of this again as Ms. Helm invited students to remember God’s faithfulness. A rock was distributed to each classroom teacher and the classes were encouraged to find a place in the classroom to put it so that every time they glanced at the rock they would remember God’s goodness.
In a world vying to shape our children, I am so thankful to have my children in a place committed to partner with my husband and I to shape them as disciples of Jesus.
