January 15 Home Communicator – There are many learning experiences at school each and every day. Students collectively learning to clean salmon tanks and checking pH levels intermittently throughout the day. Students learning how to give their brains a break between subject areas. Classroom conversations about the ocean floor, engineering design process, punctuation, etc. Learning about growth through the Delta Math testing. There are so many examples of learning that happen in these walls each and every day. Learning doesn’t start and stop with the students. Do you notice that we are constantly learning? Learning is a continuous process for all of us. This is the call we are given by God to transform “through the renewing of your minds” (Romans 12:2). God never stops shaping us, and it is important to pay attention to what He is teaching us.
Here at HCS we are passionate about learning—and not just student learning, but school-wide learning. We have become intentional about building a culture of learning that encourages persistence, collaboration and critical thinking within our community. This growth mindset is creating an atmosphere of constant learning in powerful ways. Thanks for partnering with us in this process!
In Christ,
