March 13 Home Communicator – Just over a week ago my wife Jordan and I were blessed with a wonderful addition to our family, Margaret (Maggie) Joy Knot. She has been an amazing blessing in every way. However, preparing for this little one happened well before her actual birth. Jordan and I made a commitment to one goal each for our changing family. Knowing it would be hectic, difficult at times, and exhausting with two under the age of two, my commitment was to turn to God’s Word for everything I need.
In the coming days I was led to Mark 4, where Jesus told the parable of the sower. In this parable, Jesus explains that in order to accept the Word and properly apply it, we must first be open and receptive of the Word that is being proclaimed. If we want God’s Word to sink into our hearts we must ask God to reveal Himself through His Word and in our lives. Jesus said, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32)
During this Lenten season I encourage you to dig into God’s Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ through the Word of God. There is no better place to go to receive continued nourishment for our souls.
Sincerely,
Justin Knot, Curriculum Director
