The Bus
If you have ever read Jim Collins’ book Good to Great, you have probably heard him talk about the metaphor of comparing a business to a bus. Collins goes on to say that getting the right people on the bus is absolutely essential.
Now as we all know, although Hudsonville Christian School does depend on income to function it is not a business and while the metaphor of a bus is interesting, it’s not exactly a perfect fit. I often think about those people he refers to as riders on the bus, because those riders, our staff, is what make HCS a special place.
So often, I hear comments from parents about our staff; comments that refer to the quality and character of those that work with your children. Probably the greatest gift that our “bus riders” give to your children, however, is the love of God integrated in academic excellence. I am so grateful to work with the family we call staff at Hudsonville Christian. Together, these bus riders – as Collins refers to them – make a huge difference in the lives of your children. The dedication, commitment and love that each one of the HCS staff members has for your children, I believe, make our staff second to none.
Serving Him together,
Dan Pott, Superintendent
