March 29 Home Communicator – The last few days have been quite a blessing to be a part of the HCS Community. Last week Friday was a day I will never forget. Not long after the school day began, five busloads of middle school students and staff pulled up to the elementary building. For the next 30 minutes, the students paired up with their “buddies” from Pre-K – 5th grades and prepared their hearts for worship through stories, drawings, and prayer. As the students walked together, some hand in hand, to the worship service, it created a picture every parent should see.
For any of the 1,500 plus in attendance at the Good Friday worship time, I think you would agree it was a special day for the Hudsonville Christian School community. To see the students sitting together surrounded by parents, grandparents and others brought tears to my eyes. As the worship time came to a close, everyone stood, some with hands raised up, and sang the words of In Christ Alone, “No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand. Till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.” The Easter Celebration continued on Monday as 50 young men and women from Rehoboth Christian School sang during chapels at our elementary and middle school buildings.
If you haven’t had an opportunity to talk with your child about these events, please find the time to do so soon. These experiences, along with so many others (Justice Club, Journey projects, Grace Walk) all are a very important part of our children’s faith walk at HCS.
Serving Him Together,
