May 10 Home Communicator –There is a lot of excitement in the halls of HCS! It’s the time of the year when our students take part in some exciting experiences – from the Early Childhood Spring Celebration to Awesome Arts Day, Walkathon, service projects, and learning field trips. Many of these events happen at schools all around West Michigan. So, what makes these things so unique to HCS? It’s not that our preschoolers can carry a better tune or that our walkathon raises more money than other schools; it’s the fact that we have a different focus when we plan and partake in these events. We are blessed to have the opportunity to put God at the center of all of our activities, lessons, and outings. Sometimes things get so busy that we may take this for granted, but when we stop and take time to honor God with prayer and worship, we can see that we have such an awesome opportunity. With each interaction with these precious children, we can bring it all back to our Creator, an awesome God who loves deeply and wants His Word to be shared in all that we do. In my opinion, there is no place better to do this than at HCS.
Dear Lord,
We give you all the honor and glory that each day we can attend a school where we learn more about the sacrifice you made on the cross to save us from our sins and have eternal life. Thank you for the blessings you continue to bestow upon HCS. We pray that each event our students are part of can be used to glorify you. Help us stay focused on why our school can be set apart from others by placing you first.
In Jesus’ name, we believe and pray, Amen.
Blessings, Jenny Gorter, Elementary ESS Director
