May 16 Home Communicator – It’s that time of year! Spring is finally here! The sun is starting to shine (finally), the buds are on the trees and the schedules are filling up! I was starting to think that this transition to spring would never come!
Something about the change of seasons and the sun shining so brightly today got me thinking about the different transitions we have going on here at school. We have new parents touring the school with excited children anticipating their first year at HCS next fall. There are many students looking forward to celebrating end-of-year activities in honor of special milestones. Parents, teachers, staff, and schoolmates will shortly be having their last 5th grade singing day and preparing to pray over our 5th graders as they transition to middle school next year. Our 8th grade students are experiencing a lot of their elementary school “lasts” in anticipation of middle school graduation and their move to high school.
At one point we may have thought these transitions would never come and now they are here. Let’s take a moment in the very day we are in and the season we find ourselves to give thanks to the One who sustains us through each stage of life’s journey. We are so thankful to be able to walk alongside you, from transition to transition, as we get a firsthand look through each stage of the journey at how our Father grows His gift of faith in our precious students.
Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps His covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes His unfailing love on those who love Him and obey His commands.
