May 17 Home Communicator – This is a busy time of the year for many reasons. So often I hear the comment “So is the school year winding down?” And I just smile. This week, once again, I was privileged to show a couple new families around our school and talk to them about HCS and Christian education. These are some of the “blessings” I receive in my job.
It just seems a little different for me this year however. Last week I sent in my last official payment for Christian education for my children, something I have been doing each month for 24 years! I certainly plan on supporting Christian education in some way for as many years as I can, but sending in that last “official” payment impacted me much more than I imagined it would. Having the opportunity of sending my two children to Christian schools all of those years was a privilege I have not taken lightly. I think it is for those reasons I love so much to talk about HCS.
We truly are blessed to have the Christian schools we do in West Michigan, and unless you have lived elsewhere you really cannot understand what I mean. This is something I was reminded again by the out-of-state families I showed around this week … just a few more blessings to add to the note Mrs. Broene shared last week.
Serving Him Together,
Dan Pott, Superintendent
