May 30 Home Communicator – Reflecting on The One
The school year is almost complete. I know it sounds cliché’ but truly it has gone so quickly. It has been a school year of learning about and focusing on The One. In preparation for our last middle school chapel, students were asked to think about this year’s focus and all they have experienced. Then they were asked to complete the following question – This year, I learned that God is…. Here are some of the responses; more than one student mentioned many of these responses.
This year, I learned that God is….
- Amazing! He changed me and I feel closer to Him.
- All-powerful, all knowing, and everywhere at once.
- Faithful through everything.
- He loves us even when we don’t love ourselves.
- A beautiful thing.
- Very gracious.
- Really always there. He has never left me and never will. Even when I feel lost and afraid, God is there right beside me.
I wish I could share all of the responses with you but that is not practical. It was a blessing to be able to read each response and the details of where and how they learned this. It was evident that this year’s focus on The One deeply impacted our students in numerous and life-changing ways. Many have grown in their personal relationship with Him. And this is why we are intentionally committed to faith nurturing practices and experiences.
Thank you for joining us in the journey of getting to better know and love The One. I will end with one more reflection from a middle school student about what they learned about God – This year l learned that God is the One; that God is the only thing that can bring us everlasting joy. Clothes, society, and other earthly things cannot give us the same joy God gives us. We must let the Holy Spirit take a place in our hearts, and we must go through life living it for God.
Serving and Loving The One,
