November 1 Home Communicator – OUR REFUGE
In chapel this past Friday, the 5th grade leadership team blessed our HCS community by talking about how God’s Word is our light. The chapel was centered on Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path”. As believers, it is imperative that we share and live out the Word in our daily lives, and it was so beautiful to have our students share this message in worship. I thought I would share with you one of my favorite Bible passages, and hope, in turn, that you would share one of your favorite passages with someone this week.
One of my favorite passages is Psalm 46. While in high school, my choir sang a song that was wrapped around this Psalm… “God is our refuge and strength, a present help in times of trouble, though the mountains shake into the heart of the sea, though the waters roar and foam…we will not fear” are some of the words of the song. I remember singing that song with extra “oomph”! It was so powerful and gave me such encouragement, even as a high school student.
Now, even more than ever, with all of the events in our nation and world, this Psalm brings so much comfort. I encourage you to take time to read Psalm 46 together as a family this week. Talk together about how God is our refuge and our strength, and how He is always there to help, providing security and peace. All Glory to The One whose power is complete and His ultimate victory is certain!
Serving THE ONE with you…
