November 12 Home Communicator – This year we have focused on many different facets of our theme “Be the Change”. One idea that has stuck with me is that we cannot be the change alone. In isolation we can change nothing, but with the help of our Lord and Savior and through the support of our Christian community, we can make a significant impact.
Hebrews 12:1 tells us that “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.”
With the support of believers who have gone before, in addition to the committed body at Hudsonville Christian School, we have no need to go at this alone. What an opportunity our community has to throw off all that is surrounding us, overwhelming us, or bringing us down to further God’s kingdom together.
Over the last month I have seen many examples of being “All in”, working together, and the working of the Holy Spirit on display at our school. I have witnessed students making sure to help teachers clean up classrooms daily and friends taking care of classmates when injured on the playground. Parents volunteering for many events over the last month, supporting teachers with treats and prayer. Staff filling in for those that are sick or too busy to perform duties around the school. A community coming together to ensure Christian education is affordable for all who want to attend our school. Previous generations supporting kids, grandkids, and great- grandkids. Prayer circles for those who need it at that time, and many more. This community is truly working together to “Be the Change” at HCS in both small and big ways.
In Christ,
Justin Knot, Director of Curriculum and Instruction
