October 17 Home Communicator – We often talk about our Christian School community at Hudsonville Christian. When we talk about this community, we often think about children, parents, grandparents and many others around the country who love, support and pray for HCS.
This past week I attended the MANS Administrative Conference. MANS is short for Michigan Association of Nonpublic Schools, with approximately 200 administrators from across the state representing Lutheran, Catholic and other Christian schools, as well as other heads of schools from around the world – a much larger school community. This year’s theme was “Go Boldly”, and sent a challenge to all attending to be bold in doing the things that are required of us, not only as Christians but also as leaders in our respective schools.
The speaker, Mr. Nathan Siebenga, encouraged each of us to reflect on what it means to “Be Bold” for Him in each of our communities. We each heard many examples of what the challenges are in the many non-public districts across our state. We were also encouraged to hear all of the many wonderful things happening in His Kingdom in so many different locations.
As I reflected on the conference on my way home and through this weekend, I wondered how each of our parents, teachers and students would answer the question, “What does it mean to ‘Go Boldly’ for Him in our own situation?” What does it mean for you to “Go Boldly” for Him in your professional life, spiritual life and personal life?
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
