October 6 Home Communicator – Dear HCS Parents,
Our 3 School and 4 School students have been in school for a few weeks and it has been so fun to see many of them experience school for the first time! The joy on their faces is priceless.
The other day, I had the opportunity to be in a 4 School classroom while they were having fun with Mr. Potato Head. They began by putting all of the body parts in the wrong places—there was an ear in the mouth hole, a nose in the eye hole, teeth in the nose hole, and feet poking out of the top of the head. That didn’t look right at all, and there were giggles all around!
We talked about how a real body wouldn’t work very well if all of our body parts were in the wrong places. God created our bodies with specific parts to work together in beautiful order. He also created the body of Christ. As one body, we all need to work together with our different gifts and talents to do God’s work.
If you are anything like me, your heart feels heavy with everything going on in our world right now. It feels like Satan is working hard! It is a beautiful thing to come together as ONE BODY–all with different thoughts, opinions and gifts. Our prayer this year is that whether we are starting school for the first time in 3 School, ending our time at Hudsonville Christian in 8th grade, working as staff, or partnering together as a parent, God will use all of our unique gifts and talents for His glory!
In His Service,
Julie Moes, Early Childhood Director
