September 13 Home Communicator “The One”
Welcome to the 2016/2017 school year! What a great start! God blessed us with a smooth, albeit warm, transition back into school! With the first two weeks completed, we look forward to developing a sense of routine. While I know God has promised to always be with us and take care of our needs, I am continually awestruck how this plays out in all experiences and moments of our lives.
The theme for the school year is “The One”. Our theme is based on John 14:5 and 6 which says – “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” In the first chapels at both the middle school and elementary school we introduced this theme just getting a start at scratching the surface of comprehending the reality of God and who He is. We know that until we join Him in Heaven we will never be able to comprehend the fullness and mystery of God. We will continue to have questions about who He is and that is okay! Our ‘humanness’ wants to be able to put God in a box – neat and tidy. But doing so reducing our awesome God to our limited imaginations. He is so much more than that! So throughout the school year we will continue to encourage our students to keep asking questions. Questioning keeps our minds on Him and helps us to continue to develop our individual faith journeys. We need to spend our lifetime contemplating who God is; doing so adds to the wonder and beauty of The One.
Throughout the school year we will look for opportunities to extend our understanding of The One. We will be on a quest to get to know the One True God – the Great I Am. We will continue to deepen our relationship with Him. We excitedly look forward to the times when we will stop, stand in awe, and marvel at The One. We covet your support and prayers throughout this school year as we celebrate The One who is bigger, stronger, more powerful, and more loving than we will ever know!
Serving The One together,
Mary Broene, Middle School Principal
Note: In the Middle School we have chapel worship at 7:57 on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings. We love having parents join us in worship. Please know that you are always welcome!
