September 6 Home Communicator – It was so exciting to welcome you all to back to Hudsonville Christian these last couple of days! Last Tuesday my husband asked how the first day was, and my reply was “It was just so good to have the kids back!” After a very full summer of construction, many details, and the clean up the last couple of weeks…it was just so great to see the big smiles on the faces of our students! It was fun to watch them exploring their new spaces…these spaces that have been designed to better serve our students as well as our whole HCS community. All praise and glory to THE ONE who makes our school the Spirit-filled place that it is!
These past few months have been such a blessing to me, as I have been able to witness the generosity of so many people and businesses. From many contractors donating labor and/or supplies or giving discounts on the work they did or materials they supplied, to people cutting our grass and providing us with new sod, to having multitudes of families flood our building to help clean after hearing about the need. And so many of you baked treats for the contractors throughout the summer, which was an incredible way to show the love of God to them. It was such a reminder to me that little things we do for someone can make such a big difference. We pray that every single person who entered our doors this summer felt the love of the Father.
I’ve also seen the generosity of our community thru the financial gifts toward the expansion of our school. Because of some very generous partners, we had a $200,000 match for our phone-a-thon, and we praise God that the money was matched! Back in June we were at $1.73 million, and I’m so happy to report that we are now at nearly $2.3 million. Oh praise Him! I look so forward to seeing the ways our great God helps us to bring in the remaining $600,000!
I am so grateful that God has placed me here at Hudsonville Christian…to witness all that He does…and is continuing to do…through His people. “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Psalm 126:3
Sincerely,
Tami Herweyer, Mission Advancement
