September 8 Home Communicator – Dear HCS Community,
It’s so good to have our children back in school again! The smiling faces of the kids as they reunited with friends, met their teachers, and started settling into their classroom communities gave testimony to the blessing of being in community. How fitting, after such a long time apart, that our theme this year is One Body based on Romans 12: 4-5 “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and those members do not all have the same function, so in Christ, we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”!
As we think about this verse in the context of the overall HCS community, we know that it is the many members of this body, using their differing gifts in common mission, that makes it possible to raise the next generation of disciples for His glory and kingdom impact through Christian Education. We are so thankful for how each of you, with your differing gifts, choose to partner with us in mission through sacrifices of time, treasures, and talents.
One opportunity for our HCS Body to make an impact begins next week as we kick off our annual Faith Campaign. Many of you already know that at HCS tuition costs cover only what is needed for the education of our children, and so funds for tuition assistance and general building maintenance are sought from the generosity of the HCS community. Each year this community so generously supports the Faith campaign. I am already praising God for how He will use YOU to meet our $250,000 goal. Witnessing the Lord move the hearts of His people through generous giving has been a huge joy, and when you receive a call in the coming weeks from our fundraising partners, Milito and Associates, I ask that you prayerfully consider joining in the opportunity to give to this important campaign.
Join with me in looking for God at work at HCS this year through the body and praising Him for the wonderful things He has done and will do as together we seek to raise disciples for His glory!
On Mission with you,
Rachel Landstra, Mission Advancement
