Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Ms. Mary Jo Staal

Philosophical Biography

Language, words, and story are gifts from God.  We can learn about God’s world through the books we read, and I consider it a privilege to help all students develop a lifelong love of reading.  I also strive to help our students be effective researchers and critical thinkers in today’s world that is filled with easily accessible information.  Being the librarian gives me the opportunity to interact with every student in Young 5s thru 5th grade at Hudsonville Christian.  It is exciting to not only watch the development of reading across the grades, but also the development of faith.
