Isaiah 40:31

“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings of eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Mr. Dan Pott

Professional Biography

In 1980 I graduated from Calvin College with a BA degree in education.  I went on to receive my Masters’ Degree in Administration. I spent the next 12 years as a teacher, coach and administrator at Ada Christian.  During those 12 years, I felt affirmed in my choice to work with students. I had opportunities to coach multiple sports at the middle school and high school level, as well as serve as Athletic Director in a variety of capacities at both Ada Christian and Grand Rapids Christian High School.  My first love, however, was in teaching.  During those years, I had opportunities to teach 6-8 grade science, math and Bible, as well as one year in second grade.  My last two years I served as a Middle School Administrator at Ada Christian. In 1998 I accepted the position of Middle School Administrator at Hudsonville Christian and in 2011 became Superintendent of Hudsonville Christian.

Personal Biography

I was born in Holland, Michigan, where I spent my first 18 years.  I moved to Grand Rapids when I attended Calvin College. After graduation, I made Grand Rapids my home and I still call Grand Rapids home today.  I am married to my wife, Lori, and am blessed with two beautiful children, Brandon and Linsey.

Philosophical Biography

I was raised in a family where Christian education was part of the fabric of our lives.  Both my Mom and Dad worked at Holland Christian; Mom in the front office and Dad as a teacher, athletic director and coach for 41 years.  Christian education was integrated into our lives and it was not something we did only during “the school year”.  I believe God has called us to raise our children to the best of our ability and for me that means immerse them in a Christ-like environment 24/7 – at home, in school and at church.  I strongly believe Christian education should be attainable for all of God’s children, which is why I feel so strongly that each family that wants a Christian education should have that opportunity if they are are committed to that calling.
