Mr. Kevin Sills
I graduated from Calvin College in 2000 with an Elementary Education Degree, majoring in Social Studies. I began my teaching career in fourth grade at Dutton Christian School. While at Dutton, I attended Grand Valley State University where I earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. I began teaching fourth grade at Hudsonville Christian in 2010. I enjoy coaching and have had the pleasure of working with boys and girls in soccer, basketball, and baseball.
My wife and I were married in 2002 and bought a home in Hudsonville. We are the proud parents of two wonderful little boys who keep us very busy. Our oldest was born in 2006 and his brother followed in 2009. As a family we love to spend time outside enjoying the world that God has given us. I love sports and enjoy playing and watching them. I attend Evergreen Ministries and have been a Sunday school teacher, and a WAY leader.
I have been blessed by the opportunity to work with God’s children. I cannot see myself doing anything else than teaching, this is the best job in the world! I am able to see the joy and success that comes with learning. A child is a gift from God and I have the joy of working with them every day. Learning is fun and I feel that I am called to make sure that every child who walks into my classroom understands this. I get excited about learning and often use humor in my daily lessons. I love to feel the energy and enthusiasm that children bring to the classroom. I strive to get to know each student on a personal level so that I can connect with them academically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is a blessing to be able to teach the whole child in a Christian atmosphere and be able to walk with them as they discover God’s world
