Professional Biography

Beginning a career with middle school students was truly a blessing and I grew to love that age and culture of learning.  After 11 years of teaching middle school math and science in Denver, CO we moved to Whitinsville Christian School in Central MA where I served as Principal for 11 years followed by 25 years as Head of School.  And now, serving as Interim Middle School Interim Principal my career has been bookended with middle school students – I couldn’t be more satisfied.  

Personal Biography

Receiving a degree from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights. IL in Secondary Education focusing on Science and Math was second to meeting my wife RoseAnn while we were in college together.  We are abundantly blessed with 4 children turning into 8 (including spouses)  adding in 13 grandchildren through the years.  I completed my Master’s Degree at the University of Colorado Boulder in School Administration.  Our 3 sons reside in West Michigan and our daughter  lives in Charlotte, NC.  We retired (sort of) in Holland, MI in August 2021.

Philosophical Biography

I wonder if I was genetically predisposed to a career in Christian education.  My grandfather as well as father were both administrators in Christian schools.  I attended Christian schools from grades K – 12 and spent 47 years as a teacher and administrator.  What is at the heart of such a singular focus?   It has been a vocational calling that has focused on my faith in God through a sound Biblical interpretation in 5 words Our — World —  Belongs — to — God.  Christian education fills out the framework of those 5 words.   It is a privilege and a joy to be continuing that life-long calling in an interim position now at Hudsonville Christian School.
