Professional Biography

I was born and raised in Allendale and graduated from Allendale High School in 2007. I attended Grand Valley State University and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in education. I worked for a few years as a paraprofessional in both Grand Rapids and Allendale. I got my first full-time teaching position at a charter school in Lansing. From there, I was a PE/Health teacher and Athletic Director at a high school in Grand Rapids. Before joining the team at HCS, I taught at Allendale High School as a PE and Health teacher. 

Personal Biography

My wife, Shana, and I have been married for 8 years and have 3 wonderful children – Finnick, Beau and Hattie. Finnick is in Kindergarten at HCS and Beau will be beginning preschool. In the summertime you can find us outside swimming, fishing or playing in the backyard on the playground or on the trampoline. In the winter we love playing in the snow, ice fishing, and cuddling up on the couch with popcorn and hot chocolate as we watch a movie. My personal hobbies include hunting, fishing, hanging out with friends and family, and any outdoor activities. 

Philosophical Biography

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I have to serve Hudsonville Christian in this role. I look forward to working with the HCS community and family to advance the Kingdom of God through physical education and athletics. I am excited to help students recognize their own abilities and talents that God has given them, and help them become more confident in their ability to live a healthy, active lifestyle. No one can measure the value that a Christian education has on our kids, but I know and trust that God will reveal it’s worth through each student and the life they live.
