“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Mr. Tyler Prough
I earned a bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor University in 2013 with a major in English Education and a minor in Political Science. Upon graduating, I spent the first four years of my teaching career at a public charter school in the heart of Houston, Texas.
My wife Laura is my best friend. We are huge fans of the Houston Astros! We also enjoy reading books, visiting the beach, and playing board games. My wide range of other interests includes a love of the Oak Ridge Boys, cowboy boots, Star Wars, semi-trucks, southern gospel music, NHRA drag racing, financial markets, and St. Louis Blues hockey.
I believe the call to education is very much a ministry in expanding the Kingdom of God. As a teacher, not only am I given the opportunity to teach reading and writing skills, but also of modeling Christ to young people. The mission and vision of Christian education resonates with my own beliefs that every student can learn, and that every student is made in the image of God and therefore deserves to be served and loved.
