Psalm 28:7
“ The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.”

Professional Biography
I graduated from Hope College in 1999 with a degree in Elementary Education as well as a Learning Disabilities degree for K-12. I also have a Masters in Special Education with an emphasis on early childhood education. I went on to teach in Jenison Public in Special Education and First Grade until our daughter came home from Korea many years later. I also enjoyed teaching summers in Grandville Public and at the Ottawa Area Center. I spent time home with my three children (two who were adopted from Korea, and one adopted from Detroit) I loved my time home with them but am thrilled to be back at school! I am so excited to be at HCS where I started in October of 2018.

Philosophical Biography
I feel abundantly blessed to be working at HCS. As a parent I have long felt God’s presence at HCS. It is such a special place where God is working in the hearts and mind of staff and students. Now as a teacher, I can share in the incredible community where we can grow, pray and support each other in our relationship with Jesus Christ. I love working with children and supporting them in their growth academically as well as spiritually. Each day is a new opportunity to grow and learn and share God’s love. I want each child to know how special they are while developing their own unique strengths that God gave them.
