“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Mrs. Anna Schreur
I graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN with a bachelor’s degree in K-12 vocal music education. I began my music teaching career at Brentwood Middle School before moving back to Michigan. During my time there, I taught beginning and advanced songwriting and guitar, as well as general music classes. Additionally, I directed the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choirs and an auditioned acapella vocal performing arts group. Prior to Hudsonville Christian Middle School, I taught K-5 General Music in the Hudsonville Public Schools district.
Bryce, and I were married May of 2022. Bryce is a manufacturing engineer at Thermatron Industries in Holland, MI. Together we enjoy beach walks, watching sunsets, eating ice cream, and spending quality time with family and friends. Personally, I love running, baking, Biggby coffee, teaching private music lessons, and leading worship on Sundays.
The Lord’s called me to music education for a specific purpose. I desire to make a difference in young peoples’ lives by providing many opportunities for students to experience music through listening, analyzing, creating, and performing music. As a music educator and Child of God, I believe it’s my calling to do this and so much more. It’s my great responsibility and true joy to not only teach music, but to model Jesus daily; demonstrating love, integrity, respect, care, acceptance, and kindness towards all students in my classroom. It’s my prayer we’ll grow together as people, musicians, and Christ followers!
