Mrs. Beth Osterbaan
Professional Biography
I graduated from Calvin College in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. I spent the next 20 years developing and maintaining software used by Christian schools for tuition, fund raising and TRIP. As a small business owner, I developed skills involving administration, accounting, payroll and taxes. The bookkeeping job at Hudsonville Christian School opened at a time when I was looking for an opportunity to move out of the computer industry and utilize the bookkeeping and administrative skills that I enjoyed as owner of Eastroad Software.
Personal Biography
Larry, my husband of 25 years, and I have been blessed with three children. Jeff is a senior at Calvin College pursing a degree in accounting. Our oldest daughter, Larissa, is in her second year of biotechnology studies at Calvin College. Kyra is a very active junior at Unity Christian High School. All of our children were blessed and enriched by the education they received at HCS. Since two additional bookkeeping jobs and my role as a deacon keep my schedule full, the only hobby I really have time for at this stage of my life is reading and a little bit of knitting. During the summer months we enjoy many weekends at a family cottage on Lake Michigan.
Philosophical Biography
My goal as the bookkeeper at HCS is to be a good steward of the financial resources that have been entrusted to us by parents and donors. I enjoy coming to work each day at HCS knowing that regardless of what is on the day’s agenda – payroll, posting tuition payments, paying bills, sending receipts to generous donors or simply answering the phone – it is all a vital part of utilizing the financial gifts of God to assist the HCS staff in educating children to be future servants in His kingdom.
