I Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Mrs. Cassie Wielard

Professional Biography

Growing up, I was the girl that made her little sister play school every day. I suppose my calling to be an educator came early in life! I attended Calvin College, and graduated in the Elementary Education program, with minors in Spanish and Integrated Sciences. Upon graduation I taught 1st grade at Legacy Christian School for a year, before coming to the 1st grade team at Hudsonville Christian for 6 years. Like all teachers,  I love learning…so,  I went on to study at Western Michigan University and earned my Masters in Early Childhood Education in April 2014!  I love putting my Master’s degree into practice as I teach God’s precious 3 Schoolers at HCS.

Personal Biography

I was born into a Christian home in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the beginning of Kindergarten my family moved to Europe, living in three different countries over the course of 9 years, eventually moving back to Ohio in time to begin Christian high school. Looking back I am extremely thankful for the chance to attend diverse churches in these countries, and grow in faith alongside people from every corner of God’s creation. Throughout high school and college I was blessed to serve on many missions trips to orphanages in Mexico—trips which greatly impacted my faith, and instilled a calling to teach within me.   When I am not teaching, I especially enjoy spending time with my husband Ross and daughters Maddie (born May 2016) and Brielle (born May 2018), reading, and spending time outdoors—specifically in our kayaks!

Philosophical Biography

I am excited to be a part of the first experience most children will have at HCS – 3 School!  At Hudsonville Christian School we are blessed to learn in a Christian environment – an environment that is safe, loving, and full of shared prayers and celebrations of God’s faithfulness.  I delight in seeing these students playfulness as they discover the world around them, and who their creator is!  Needless to say, I feel incredibly blessed to walk alongside my students and their families as we grow together this year!
