Mrs. Cheri Witte

Professional Biography

I graduated from Calvin College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, and minors in Math and English. After graduation, I worked at Calvin Christian Elementary School in Wyoming, MI. I taught 1^st grade math, worked with the Special Education teacher as Educational Support Paraprofessional, and directed their after school program. After a couple years there, we chose to start a family, and I felt called to stay home with my children. I have been with Kids’ Corner for over a year.

Personal Biography

I grew up on a farm in Edgerton, Minnesota and attended a Christian school there. I met my husband, Scott, at Calvin College and have been happily married for 16 years. We have 3 wonderful children that attend Hudsonville Christian- Noah, Kiersten, and Claire. We are members at First CRC in Grand Rapids, where I enjoy helping with GEMS, Little Lambs, Children’s Worship, and Bible study. I am also enjoying my term as a deacon. I love gardening, reading, cooking, travelling with my family, camping, watching my kids’ activities, and just being outside enjoying God’s world.

Philosophical Biography

I’ve always enjoyed spending time with children. I love their curiosity and the way they take in the world around them. I am forever grateful to have Jesus in my life, and I strive to show His love to the children around me, to help them learn more about Jesus and His love, and to be His hands and feet on this earth. I am continually awed by the environment of Hudsonville Christian, and I know that the staff is the main ingredient. Seeing hundreds of children worshipping our Lord at chapel is one of the most beautiful things I will ever see on this earth, and I am so blessed to be one part of this amazing community of believers.
