Mrs. Christi Tuit
I graduated from Calvin College with my Secondary Education teaching certificate, and in 2000 I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling Education/Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. For 6 years I served at Eastern Christian High School in North Haledon, New Jersey, as the Director of Guidance. Upon moving back to West Michigan, I worked at Grand Rapids Christian Middle and Elementary schools for 10 years as the school counselor. I began working at Hudsonville Christian in 2017.
I grew up in Hudsonville and graduated from Hudsonville Christian and Unity Christian. I met my husband at Calvin College. Together we have lived in Holland, Michigan, New Jersey, and now in Grand Rapids. We have three children. I enjoy traveling, baking, and reading, and have recently learned how to crochet. My family attends Neland Ave CRC in Grand Rapids and have been actively involved with the work and ministry of Camp Roger.
I believe that God created us to live in community, so I love to work with students as they are learning who they are and how to get along with others. I am amazed and blessed by watching students care for each other, walk along side each other, and learn how to resolve conflicts in healthy ways. I am grateful to have the model of Christ and his church to hold up to students when we are working through difficult issues. Another part of this community is the blessing I receive from working with parents and teachers as we seek to help students grow spiritually, socially, and academically.
