“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”
Mrs. Emily Neher
I grew up in Zeeland where I attended Zeeland Christian and then went to Holland Christian for high school. I then went on to pursue my dream of becoming an elementary education teacher at Calvin College where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education, language arts and history. I student taught at Westside Christian in a third grade classroom. I then taught third grade at Vanderbilt Charter Academy in Holland for twelve years. While teaching at Vanderbilt, I received my master’s degree in reading from Grand valley State University. I am so excited to be a part of Hudsonville Christian!
My husband, Russ, and I live in Hudsonville. We have been blessed with three daughters. My oldest Brinley goes to Hudsonville Christian. We also have twin daughters, Kinzley and Kaylee. We attend Wellspring Community Church. I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to be outside and enjoy God’s beautiful creation by going to the beach and going for bike rides.
I am very excited to teach at a Christian school. It is my prayer that I can show students God’s abundant love and faithfulness. I believe a Christian education, along with the church and home, can give students the solid building blocks that they need to go out into God’s kingdom and make a difference by restoring the brokenness that is in this world. I am very grateful for the opportunity to pray for and with my students at any time, as well as have the support of parents who will pray for me. I believe that each child is an image bearer of God. Each child has different learning styles and needs. Because of this, I will use a variety of approaches in my teaching to help all students learn and succeed. It is my desire that students will leave my classroom growing in both knowledge and the belief that they are loved by God. I also want my students to feel accepted and supported, so I will strive to build relationships in my classroom.
