Mrs. Jenn Velzen

Professional Biography

I graduated from Hope college in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in special education with a Learning Disability endorsement. A few years later, I earned my Masters of Education from Western Michigan University. Right out of college I taught in Hamilton as a 5th grade teacher. After 7 years, I left teaching to be home and raise my family. The last 11 years I have worked as a sub at Hudsonville Christian Elementary. I also co-directed the  HCS Math Pentathlon program for 10 years. I am excited to be a part of the Hudsonville Christian Middle School community.

Person Biography

I am happily married to my husband for over 25 years. We are blessed to have 5 kids that have attended Hudsonville Christian. My favorite summer activity is traveling. Our favorite family trips include camping and visiting National Parks. During the school year I can be found cheering on my kids in various sports.

Philosophical Biography

I am a teacher because I love kids. Hudsonville Christian is an amazing community. My family has been blessed by being part of this great community. I want to continue to invest and be a blessing to students and families at Hudsonville Christian. Every student has a unique gift given to them by God. I enjoy helping students discover their gift, develop it, and use it for God’s glory.
