Mrs. Jill Wiechel

Professional Biography

I graduated from Calvin College with a degree in Elementary Education with minors in Math and Science.  After graduating from Calvin College, I taught first grade at Hudsonville Christian School for six years until my children were born.  During my time as a stay at home mom, I was able to take several continuing education classes that focused on Language Arts.  As my girls got older and entered school, I was also able to be a substitute teacher at Hudsonville Christian.

Personal Biography

My husband, Nathan, and I met while taking education classes at Calvin College.  He proposed in my first grade classroom in the old white school building and we were married in 2003.  Nathan teaches in the middle school at Allendale Christian School.  We have two girls, Emma and Lauren, who attend Hudsonville Christian School.  We attend Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Hudsonville where I have been involved in the Children’s Worship Ministry.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, gardening and sewing (when I have time).

Philosophical Biography

It is my heart’s desire to serve and glorify God through my work in His Kingdom.  At Hudsonville Christian, it is my delight to honor God by investing in the lives of His children.  As a teacher, I am able to encourage and support God’s children in their academic growth and help prepare them for the Kingdom work He has in store for them.  At HCS, I am so thankful that my job doesn’t stop there.  I also get to share the love of Jesus with my students and grow together in our knowledge and love for Jesus Christ.  I am honored to be a part of the incredible HCS community where we can pray with and for each other, worship together and encourage one another in our relationship with Jesus Christ.
