Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Mrs. Jolynn Ymker
I received my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education form Cornerstone University. After graduating, I taught in the Grand Rapids Public Schools for 11 years working in different grade levels as both a classroom and reading teacher. I earned my Master’s degree from Grand Valley State University and hold my professional teaching certificate with endorsements in Language Arts and Reading. In 2015, I was happy to transition to Hudsonville Christian as a Young 5s teacher and now as a Kindergarten teacher.
I grew up in Hudsonville and attended Hudsonville Christian. My husband Paul and I live in Hudsonville with our three children – Abrielle, Drew and Kayla. It is a joy to be a teacher at the school I went to as a child and also that my children attend. Our family enjoys vacationing up north in the summers, riding bike, swimming and having family game nights. Along with spending time with my family, I also enjoy arts and crafts, baking and reading a good book.
As a former public school teacher, there wasn’t an opportunity to openly share my faith and connect it to what I was teaching. I love teaching at Hudsonville Christian where I have the opportunity to lead students in singing praises to our God, share Bible teachings and stories, point out the significance of our maker in a math pattern or a science concept, and pray with students on a daily basis. It is a blessing to partner with parents to help their children grow and develop their relationship with Christ. I love kids and creating an environment where learning is fun and attainable for all students. It is important to me that students feel safe, activities are centered on students and their unique learning styles, and that I communicate effectively to make learning successful
