Mrs. Justine Keuning-LaFrence
Professional:
I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2011 with my BA in education with an emphasis in both language arts and social studies. I also hold a Master’s degree in special education and an additional endorsement in cognitive impairments. I’m particularly passionate about literacy in special education and gifted/talented education. Before coming to Hudsonville Christian, I worked at Holland Christian’s South Side Elementary for three years as an assistant teacher, mainly teaching reading and math with second graders and kindergarteners.
Personal:
I’ve been married since 2011 to Brian, who I met while attending U of M. We live in Holland and enjoy spending time at the lake and in downtown Holland. We have a daughter, Adeline, and a Boston Terrier named Bennie. Brian and I love to travel, attend Michigan football games, and play board games. When I have a little spare time, I love to cook, sew, garden, and read. Brian and I attend Pillar church.
Philosophical:
I felt called into the teaching profession due to my love of learning. I wanted the opportunity to share that love of learning with my students. I’ve been so blessed to work in Christian schools, where faith is an integral part of the work of teaching and learning. God has blessed me with opportunities to work with both young elementary children and now with middle schoolers. I am humbled by the ability to share my faith with my students and help them walk through their faith and learn how to live it out in our world.
