“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Mrs. Kristin Dyk
I graduated from Dordt College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. I taught high school math and coached volleyball for one year at Dakota Christian School in Corsica, South Dakota. After that, we moved to Jenison, Michigan and I taught math at Unity Christian High School for 6 years. I joined the HCS staff in 2016 as 8th grade math and homeroom Bible teacher.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Jordan, and we have a son and a daughter. I enjoy playing the piano, jogging, trying different workouts, playing and watching sports, reading books and watching movies. Right now one of my favorite things is watching our son grow and discover new things each day.
Ever since I knew God was calling me to be a teacher, I have wanted to teach in a Christian school. I want my classroom to be an extension of a Christian home, fostering faith and learning for my students. I became a teacher because I want to help each and every student learn about God’s world and their place in it. Math is a subject that can really be a struggle for students. Improving in math requires perseverance and hard work. These are skills that can help children in every area of life. I love discovering with students how God’s creation works together through math and how he has created the world to bring order out of chaos. I am blessed to be a homeroom Bible teacher, and walk with students as they travel through their journey of faith.
