Personal Biography:

I was born and raised in Grand Rapids where I attended the Grand Rapids Christian Schools. My husband Tanner and I are now living in Holland. Together we enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, and traveling. We attend Engedi Church in Holland where we volunteer in the global missions department.  In my free time I also enjoy reading, painting, and taking walks with my dog Larry.

Philosophical Biography:

I believe that each of my students is a unique child of God, with distinct talents, personalities, and abilities. I am excited to have the opportunity to work in a school where we can proclaim that each one of us, in our differences and similarities, are reflections of our awesome Creator. In my classroom, I hope to create a community that celebrates this fact and encourages each other to be the unique person God created them to be.

Because I recognize that my students are unique, I strive to get to know them, so I can provide them with an educational experience that best suits them as an individual. I want to challenge my students while still making learning fun and accessible. One of my favorite verses, 1 John 4:12 states that, “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is made complete in us.” I pray that God’s love is displayed in my classroom through the way I love and care for my students, as well as through the way my students love and care for each other.
