Professional Biography

I graduated in 2003 from Kuyper College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.  Upon graduation I worked as the Director of Alpha Women’s Center in Grand Rapids until I became a stay at home mom.  In 2016, I started substitute teaching and eventually aiding in Nature Based Preschool.  In the spring of 2020 I graduated from Liberty University with a Master’s of Arts in Teaching degree in Elementary Education K-6.

Personal Biography

I married my husband Joe in 2003, a week after graduating from college.  We lived in Greenville, MI when we were first married and moved 3 times again until we settled in Hudsonville in 2012.  We have five children who attend HCS and Unity. Our family attends Fair Haven Church.  We enjoy riding bikes, going camping and attending all kinds of sporting events: soccer, football, basketball, baseball and swimming!

Philosophical Biography

I am so excited to work in Nature-Based Preschool! I love to see the enthusiasm of preschoolers as they explore God’s creation together!  I am passionate about seeing children grow and discover how God made each of them unique.  I look forward to teaching little ones the valuable social skills of how to interact and communicate with one another through cooperative learning.  I strive to create a caring and safe learning environment in our classroom.  At HCS we have such a great opportunity to show students the love and kindness of Jesus.  Ultimately, it is through the power of God that students can do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20, NIV). I am so glad God has given me this opportunity to partner with HCS families! I can’t wait to see students learn and progress this year!
