Mrs. Rhonda Hopkins
I graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. in elementary education. I have taken a couple of graduate classes from Grand Valley University and have attended several workshops which support the work that I do at HCS.
After college I taught third and fourth grades at Moline Christian School. I took a few years off to start a family. Then, for about seven years, I became the Administrative Director at a daycare/after school/preschool program at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church. I was a substitute teacher for a couple of years when my youngest child started kindergarten. In 2001, I started working at HCS in Educational Support Service.
I believe that God made each of us just exactly the way we are, with all of our weaknesses and all of our strengths for a very specific reason. He has a wonderful, intentional plan for every believer in His Kingdom. One of my jobs is to encourage each child to rejoice in their strengths and grow through their struggles. I strive to help my students experience the love of Jesus through my own interactions with them and by helping them show love and respect for each other.
I truly enjoy and am blessed by being on the staff at HCS. The love of God is evident daily through the love of the students, the support of the parents and the encouragement of the staff. This is a very special community to be a part of and I am grateful.
