“For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”
Mrs. Ruth Holtrop
Professional Biography
I graduated from Calvin College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with minors in science and language arts. I began my teaching career at a Christian school in Honduras, then moved back to West Michigan and taught for 7 years in various grades at Byron Center Christian. I am so thankful that God has now led me to teach His precious children at Hudsonville Christian.
Personal Biography
My husband, Luke (who teaches in the middle school!), and I got married the summer after graduating from college and moved to Honduras two weeks later to begin our teaching careers. God used that time to teach us many things about teaching, each other, and Himself. After two years, God led us back to West Michigan when I got a job at Byron Center Christian School. We now live in Hudsonville, attend Cottonwood Church in Jenison, and have been blessed with two little girls-Isla (born April 2016) and Ada (born February 2019). I’m so thankful to teach in the mornings and also be home with my girls. 🙂
Philosophical Biography
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I love getting to spend my days teaching children about God’s world and how much he loves them. Since becoming a mom, my passion for teaching has grown. It is so exciting to teach the littlest ones how to show Jesus’ love to their friends, teachers and family. They don’t have to wait until they’re older-they can do it right now! I also love coming alongside parents as we are in this stage together! My prayer is that God will be glorified through everything I do and through what we do as a community working together as the body of Christ.
