Professional Biography
I am a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a major in Group Science and a minor in Elementary Education. I am working on my Master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education. Prior to my position at Hudsonville Christian, I taught kindergarten at Grand Haven Christian School.
Personal Biography
My husband, Kevin, and I live in Hudsonville, and have three children, Nathan, Sara, and Olivia. As a family, we have fun spending time outdoors in God’s amazing creation, playing games, and taking our dog for walks. I also enjoy cheering on our children at their events, going for a run, and relaxing with a good book. We are members of Evergreen Christian Reformed Church.
Philosophical Biography
I am in awe that God has called me to teach His children. I consider it a privilege and a joy to share my faith in Jesus Christ with five and six year olds. I believe that every child is a gift from God and my mission is that the children I teach will know how very much their Heavenly Father loves them. As a teacher, I hold dear to my heart the scripture from Deuteronomy 32:2 “Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.” My prayer as a kindergarten teacher in a Christian school is that my words and actions will fall like a gentle rain guiding and nurturing God’s children to a life of service for Him.
